About me
Sarah Schober
I was born on 15.04.1992 in Leibnitz and grew up with my parents Gertrude Kolberger-Schober and Dietmar Schober in Leibnitz.
At the age of 8 I got an invitation from coach Heinz Kaiser, who was also my coach for 10 years and was in charge of the weekly children’s afternoons at that time. My enthusiasm was immediately so great that I spent every free minute on the golf course, practiced and also soon participated in various tournaments throughout Austria.
At the age of 12 I was accepted into the youth national team and at 17 into the women’s national team. The reward for the hard training were postings to tournaments at home and abroad.
After graduating from the Sportborg Monsberger in Graz in 2011, I studied 4 semesters at the RCC in Oklahoma/USA, then 2 semesters at the University of Florida in Gainesville/USA.
Among other things, I qualified for the 2010 World Cup in Buenos Aires, Argentina as well as the 2012 World Cup in Belek, Turkey and 2014 World Cup in Japan.
During the World Cup in Argentina, I received several offers to study in the USA. It was immediately clear to me that I would take advantage of this opportunity, because college golf is very important in the USA. It’s a great combination of sport and study, as well as a valuable experience for life.
In 2011 and 2012 I won back to back NJCAA Women’s National Championship (largest tournament in college golf).
When I’m not on the golf course, I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends, playing sports like tennis, biking, swimming, skiing, cross-country skiing, and eating out.
